Welcome to the APRIQOT Project website

The Automated Performance Reports to Improve Quality Outcomes Trial used the National Endoscopy Database (NED) to evaluate endoscopy performance and reduce unwarranted variation in colonoscopy quality. It showed that regular automated feedback of endoscopist- and unit-level performance on detection data improved polyp detection.

Based on the findings from the NED-APRIQOT trial, JAG is beginning to roll-out this facility to all endoscopists currently working in JAG-registered centres. Several sites are currently receiving reports as part of a feasibility and logistics pilot.

The findings from the initial trial can be read here.

The pilot is being run from July 2025 - July 2026 in the South West and North East regions. We are currently expecting the reports to continue beyond this period in the 2 regions, while analysis and further roll out to the UK is being completed.

The APRIQOT project is funded by The Health Foundation

As part of the pilot, endoscopists also have access to the education resources within NED, which is material available to guide, and support development. This material is designed to be used where appropriate and practical.

Updates -

1 July 2026

The initial 12 month pilot has now ended and analysis of the pilot has begun. We will continue to send out reports to those involved in the pilot while we assess further rollout.

Access

Endoscopists and service leads involved in the pilot (North East and South West regions) will have the 'APRIQOT' option on their dashboard.
